The famous Ukrainian track and field athlete Marina Bekh-Romanchuk won gold in triple jump at the European Games 2023, which are held in Poland. The 27-year-old native of Khmelnytschyna showed the result of 14.58 meters.

Since none of the representatives of the first or third division was able to jump further, the Ukrainian was declared the winner.

Tugba Danishmaz from Turkey was the best in the first division. Her mark of 14.16 meters allowed her to win silver.

It should be noted that the Ukrainian national track and field team lost its place in the first division, as it withdrew from the 2021 European Championship due to an outbreak of coronavirus in the team. There are no medals in the second division, but in some disciplines the European champions are determined by the results of all divisions.

Marina became the European Games individual champion for the first time in her career. Prior to that, the athlete had a gold medal in team competition in 2019.

Recall that on August 20 Bech-Romanchuk won the Multisport European Championship, which was held in Munich. Our compatriot became the best in the sector for triple jump, showing the result of 15.02 m.
