The authorities pompously reported on a powerful event

After Russia was banned from the 2024 Olympics in Paris, local authorities are trying to fill the information space with news about national tournaments. The day before, the Russian media pretentiously announced the "World Cucumber Crunch Championship" to be held on July 27 in the village of Istobensk, Kirov region.

"The annual Istobensky Cucumber festival is one of the largest not only in the region but also in Russia. Among the participants are representatives of many countries: Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ghana, Haiti, India, Russia, Senegal, Senegal, Syria, Sudan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan," the press release says.

According to the rules of the "championship," the participants will bite off an Istobensky cucumber, and the resulting sound is measured with a special microphone. This result is recorded in the protocol. The top 16 participants will go on to the final round, where the winner will be determined.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the president of the Russian Ski Racing Federation Yelena Välbe called the 2024 Olympic Games, which will take place from July 26 to August 11, a miserable event. Only 15 athletes from the Russian Federation are allowed to participate in the Games in Paris in a neutral status.

Välbe is very happy that Russia refused to show the Olympics in France.
