Krasiuk told about Usyk's arrest

The arrest of Oleksandr Usyk at Krakow airport was initiated by RyanAir employees who refused to let one of our champion's friends on board the plane. The man's condition was defined as "deep alcohol intoxication," which was later not confirmed.

Promoter Oleksandr Krasiuk wrote about this on his Instagram page. According to him, Usyk's friend fell asleep while waiting for his turn to board, after which the airline staff decided that he was intoxicated.

"Oleksandr and his friend (also Oleksandr) were flying on RyanAir flight EB2777 from Krakow to Thessaloniki, having traveled more than 11 hours from Kyiv to Krakow by car and were a bit tired. Usyk had a "priority" boarding line, and his friend had a general queue. While waiting for boarding, Oleksandr's friend fell asleep on the seats in the waiting area. The airline staff somehow strangely identified the other Oleksandr's condition as "deep intoxication," the promoter said.

Krasiuk added that Usyk refused to leave his teammate behind and fly without him. "Usyk began to clarify the reasons for the denial of access with RyanAir employees, but they refused to give explanations and called the police. Usyk firmly stated that he would not leave his friend, would not fly without him and was not going to leave the boarding area until representatives of Ukrainian diplomacy arrived. The police threatened to detain him and handcuff him. Then Usyk stretched out his hands and... The policeman handcuffed his wrists," the boxer's representative emphasized.

After that, according to Krasiuk, the Ukrainian was tested for alcohol intoxication. "At the local police station, the second Oleksandr was offered to undergo a corresponding test, which did not confirm RyanAir's version. After that, the police and airline employees had an 'unpleasant conversation', but it was too late," the promoter added.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Polish promoter Andrzej Wasilewski called the situation with the arrest of Oleksandr Usyk shameful for Poland. The incident itself made social networks explode with memes. The Polish authorities also commented on the boxer's detention for the first time.
