Athletes are banned from traveling abroad without the approval of the sports committee

In Russia, the authorities have banned athletes from leaving the country without permission. According to RIA Novosti, the order was issued by the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of St. Petersburg.

The ban applies to athletes, coaches and staff of state-funded sports schools. They are prohibited from traveling outside the Russian Federation for training camps and during vacation periods.

It is clarified that travel may be permitted if approved by the committee.

According to Sports.ru, several directors of sports schools said that there used to be a list of friendly countries to which they could travel. It included Turkey, for example, but now it is recommended not to go there.

This innovation has caused a real shock among Russian fans, who compare the situation to what happened during the Soviet era.

"For 30 years, lovers of communism have been repeating the mantra 'return everything to the ass'. Well, eat it, don't get stuck. It's a pity that not only they, but also normal people will have to "enjoy" the delights of the scoop," commentators write.
