The Platov BC contacted Prigozhin on its own

The Platov women's basketball club from Rostov-on-Don has approached the Wagner PMC with a proposal to become their sponsor, according to the Baza Telegram channel. It is reported that the team, which is managed by a participant in the war in Ukraine, is even ready to change its name, including the name "Wagner".

The Platov BC itself approached Prigozhin with a request to become the club's technical and general sponsor. According to Baza, this issue is currently under discussion, but there has been no official response from the PMC.

Platov's management took this step, in particular, because of its debts - last year it accumulated 760,000 rubles (about $10,000). In addition, the bookmaker wants to expand and start training children in Donetsk and Luhansk.

Valentin Makogonov, the club's president, is also associated with Wagner, as he participated in the "SVO" and lost his arm during the fighting. He later received an award from the Ministry of Defence and a medal for bravery to a PMC.

The amount of the planned deal is not yet known. Currently, representatives of BC Platov are waiting for Wagner's reaction and a meeting with Prigozhin.

In the comments, Russian fans were outraged by the news.

"We need more hell, even more!", "Oh sport, you are war", "Where are we going", "You can't understand Russia with your mind. a country where PMCs are outlawed, they sponsor the club and recruit employees in federal prisons", users wrote.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, a few days ago in Russia, a man wearing a chevron of the Wagner PMC raped two schoolgirls, before threatening to blow them up.
