Ukrainians failed to complete the group stage of the Europeen Games

The Ukrainian national 3x3 basketball team has finished its performance in the group stage of the European Games 2023, which are now held in Krakow, Poland. Coach Yuriy Protsyuk's team lost to the Lithuanians 14-21 and failed to qualify for the playoffs of the women's tournament.

Our team of Kristina Filevych, Miriam Uro-Nile, Oksana Mollova, and Veronika Kosmach very quickly committed two fouls, but tried to respond attack on attack. The Ukrainians offered their opponents a tough basketball game.

In just one minute, the Lithuanians had already picked up three fouls. In addition, Mollova managed to block shots, which confused the Lithuanian team. At the beginning of the fourth minute our girls took the lead with 4:3.

The fifth minute of play began with an accurate long-range from the Lithuanians, and seconds later the Ukrainians not only earned a foul penalty, but again missed two points.

In the middle of the game our girls missed the breakaway 0:9 which was the decisive moment of the game. The Lithuanians won the game, while the Ukrainians didn't gain the necessary amount of points to leave the group.

We remind, that the day before, the "blue-yellow" team defeated the host Poles 19:16, and then lost to the Estonians with 13:14, missing the decisive goal with a siren. Thus, our girls are in third place in the group, missing Poland in the quarterfinals.
