Ukraine's national football team will be strengthened by Barcelona prodigy who won the Spanish championship - media
Ukraine's U-17 national team, composed of players born in 2009, will be strengthened by Barcelona's Artem Rybak,Football24 reports. The 14-year-old native of Chernivtsi may become part of Yuriy Moroz's team at the next training camp in Spain.
Artem started his football career at Bukovyna and Shakhtar Donetsk. After the full-scale invasion began, the young Ukrainian moved to Barcelona.
In 2023, together with the team of the same name from the capital of Catalonia, he won the Spanish championship in his age group.
In February 2024, the authoritative Spanish edition sport.es published a praising article about the Ukrainian.
"Artem Rybak is one of the least physically developed players in the youth championship. Next to his teammates, he looks like a toddler, but when the match starts and the Ukrainian playmaker starts to act, few people notice his small stature. His powerful left foot shines through with excellent control, passing, dribbling and shooting technique.
Artem instantly escalates the match with vertical passes when the situation allows it, but he also knows how to hide the ball and pause the game when it is necessary to do so. A smart reading of the game is one of the advantages of the former Shakhtar Donetsk academy player," the article says.
