Russia plans to turn a match against a Euro 2024 participant into a propaganda show featuring Putin, who will be announced as Russian president

On March 21, the Russian national soccer team will play its first match against European representatives since its suspension. Valery Karpin's team will face one of the participants in the upcoming continental championship, Serbia, and the game will take place in Moscow.

At the same time, the aggressor country intends to turn the sparring match into a propaganda show. Russian media have already begun to announce the presence of Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, who will be presented as re-elected president of the Russian Federation for a fifth term three days before the event.

In a commentary to the propaganda news agency RIA Novosti, Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov neither confirmed nor denied the dictator's desire to attend the match. "I don't know yet whether Vladimir Putin will attend the friendly matches of the Russian national football team, it will all depend on his work schedule," the Putin regime's henchman said.

It should be noted that the Serbian side has officially confirmed the trip to Moscow. At the same time, Russia claims that the meeting was agreed upon by the European Football Union (UEFA) and the International Football Federation (FIFA).

Since their suspension from international competitions, the Russians have played nine friendly matches with teams from Asia and Africa.
