"Plays a big role": the world champion from the Russian Federation dreams of Russia's victory in the war against Ukraine

Zhulin spoke about ISU

Two-time Olympic medalist Alexander Zhulin has criticized the International Skating Union (ISU) for refusing to consider the return of Russians to its competitions. The ex-husband of Tatyana Navka, with typical threats, dreamed of the aggressor country's victory over Ukraine.

Zhulin said this in an interview with Sport24. The 1993 world champion noted that he was not surprised by such a step by the ISU and added the traditional stamp of Kremlin propaganda about the politicization of sports.

"I was not at all surprised that the ISU ignored the summons to return Russia to figure skating. Nothing will change until we achieve victory in the political space. Unfortunately, politics plays a big role in sports today. So until we win in Ukraine, nothing will change," Zhulin said.

The President of the Russian Skating Union (RKR), Nikolai Gulyaev, is furious over the ISU decision, calling it "outright arbitrariness."

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov furiously demanded that the IOC "get away with" the war against Ukraine.
