"One talks about what, but the bald man talks about the comb". Lavrov tied Zelensky to the chess World Cup scandal and became a laughingstock
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov became a laughingstock online when he commented on chess player Magnus Carlsen's dress code violation at the World Blitz Championships in New York. The Norwegian entered the ninth round of the tournament in jeans.
The organizers fined Carlsen $200 and demanded that he change his clothes, but the chess player refused and ended his participation in the tournament early.
"The fact that the world champion Magnus Carlsen was essentially kicked out for wearing jeans is surprising, if not stunning. Then [Volodymyr] Zelensky should be kicked out of everywhere for his dress code, it would solve a lot of problems," Kommersant quoted the diplomat as saying.
The statement provoked mockery from fans who wondered what the president of Ukraine and his clothes had to do with it.
"That's a good one," "The saying 'One talks about what, but the bald man talks about the comb'. Isn't this what this is about?", "Yes, unfortunately, they are beaten and irreversible", "What does Zelensky have to do with it?", "After watching quadrobists, Sergey's head is bad (age)", " Well, traditionally, we need to release Zakharova with concerns and red lines," users mock.
