Maguchikh had a great season
Olympic champion Yaroslava Maguchykh earned an impressive amount of prize money for winning the Diamond League season. Our compatriot won all five stages of the high jump competition in which she participated, taking first place in all of them, including the final in Brussels.
For winning the Diamond League stage, athletes receive $10,000 each, and for winning gold in the final, $30,000. Maguchikh's prize money amounted to $40,000 + $30,000, or $70,000.
Another of our compatriots, Iryna Gerashchenko, who won the final bronze medal, added 22 thousand to her bank account. Yulia Levchenko managed to earn only a thousand dollars.
Oleh Doroshchuk also competed in the high jump. The competition organizers will pay him 19 thousand dollars.
It should be noted that Yaroslava received $175 thousand for her performance at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The day before, Maguchikh addressed the fans and soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine after the end of the historic season, which saw her become a world record holder and Olympic champion.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Yaroslava Maguchikh admitted that because of Russia, she was able to enjoy the historic world record for only one day.
