"Impossible." Mahuchikh spoke frankly about her wedding with her 20-year-old fiancé
Olympic champion Yaroslava Mahuchikh has confirmed that she is unable to organize a wedding with her boyfriend Nazar Stepanov. According to the 23-year-old world record holder in the high jump, the ceremony is not possible now because of the war in Ukraine, as athletes cannot invite their family and friends.
Mahuchikh said this in an interview with the Champion portal. The athlete from Dnipro noted that young people want to get married in their hometown. Yaroslava also emphasized that even while abroad, she keeps in touch with her parents and friends.
"I also find time for my family abroad. There is video communication and instant messengers. I was especially happy when my parents came to Portugal. I was there for a training camp. This time together charged both me and them for the new season. I'm very glad that Nazar and I found each other and now live together. I hope that when the war is over, we will be able to organize a wedding. I want it to be in Dnipro, to invite my family and friends. Now it is impossible to gather everyone like this – they are scattered all over the world," Mahuchikh said.
Earlier, the athlete spoke about her relationship with her fiancé. Before that, Yaroslawa responded to the fans through a hate speech against Nazar. Mahuchikh and her lover made a splash during the award ceremony for the best athlete in Europe.
