"He remains a Ukrainian": Usyk's promoter defends Lomachenko and gives his forecast for fight with Haney

Oleksandr ChekanovSport
Krasiuk gave a forecast for the Lomachenko - Haney fight

It will be incredibly difficult for former three-weight champion Vasyl Lomachenko (17-2, 11 KOs) to beat American Devin Haney (29-0, 15 KOs) in a fight for all the lightweight belts. At the same time, our compatriot, thanks to his experience and technical data, can teach a lesson to a younger opponent.

This opinion was expressed by promoter Oleksandr Krasiuk in an interview with the bokserorg YouTube channel. The representative of Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) defended Vasyl, who is constantly criticised by fans for spreading Russian propaganda from the UOC-MP.

Haney - Lomachenko

"It will sound like a lot of support from me, because deep down I treat Lomachenko as my compatriot. It doesn't matter what he does or what he says. He remains a Ukrainian. And I wish him victory. But this is a very risky fight for him. Two years ago, I would have bet on Vasyl with my eyes closed, but now I would say that he has less of a chance. But he is a warrior. He's a technical boxer who can teach Haney a lesson. I can say that Haney has an advantage - he's younger, he's motivated and he's just bigger," said Krasiuk.

Recall that Ukraine refused to broadcast the Lomachenko-Haney fight. Megogo also named the reasons for this step. Our boxing fans reacted strongly to this decision. It was also revealed how much the Ukrainian will earn for the fight.

Earlier, Vasyl posted a video of the Ukrainian Union of Orthodox Journalists (UOJ) on Instagram, in which he showed some Ukrainians as "spiritually sick people who can only be pitied". Prior to that, Lomachenko posted a propaganda video showing what happened in the days of "militant atheism" with footage of destroyed churches in the Ukrainian capital during World War II.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Devin Haney said he would destroy Vasyl Lomachenko in a fight on May 20. In addition, bookmakers have reduced the Ukrainian's chances of winning the fight.
