Vasilyev condemns Germany
Two-time Olympic champion Dmitry Vasiliev made a pathetic speech about how Europeans, and Germans in particular, should "kneel endlessly" before Russians. The former biathlete pointed to Germany's guilt in the outbreak of World War II, forgetting that the USSR was in league with Adolf Hitler.
Vasilyev said this in an interview with the propaganda news agency R-Sport with the arrogance and pride typical of Russian representatives. An accomplice of the dictatorial regime of Vladimir Putin expressed the ridiculous idea that Russia would be begged to return to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) after the resignation of its president, Thomas Bach.
"Thomas Bach is a man who was born in a country whose inhabitants, when they see Soviet and Russian people, should endlessly kneel before them. Because this country has brought so much evil to our country that they will never be able to wash themselves clean. They already openly hate everything connected with Russia and Russian people, and they need to be reminded of this. And soon there will definitely come a time when they will run to us again to make peace and invite us to any organization. Including the IOC. We need to show them their place and remind them who they are," Vasilyev said.
It should be noted that the current IOC President has decided to step down and the Committee will receive a new leader in March next year. Faisal bin Hussein (Jordan), Sebastian Coe (UK), Kirsty Coventry (Zimbabwe), Juan Antonio Samaranch Jr. (Spain), Johan Eliasch (Sweden), David Lapartean (France) and Morinari Watanabe (Japan) are running for this position.
Earlier, vice-champion and two-time Olympic medalist Alexander Zhulin complained that Western countries want to turn Russia into North Korea.
