An armless cyclist won the world championship. He was awarded a wristwatch. Video
Spanish cyclist Ricardo Ten, who has had both arms amputated since childhood, won the Paralympic World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. The 48-year-old native of Valencia, competing in the C1 class (people with severe disabilities), became a real triumphant at the World Cup, winning six awards (three gold, two silver and one bronze).
For such an outstanding performance, the World Cup sponsors decided to reward the Spaniard by presenting him with a wristwatch from a well-known brand.
When he received the gift, the cyclist couldn't help but smile ironically.
When he was 8 years old, Ricardo touched a high-voltage line and suffered severe burns to 75% of his body. Doctors had to amputate both his arms and left leg due to the discharge.
