Maltsev attacked Campbell

Two-time Olympic champion Alexander Maltsev has expressed outrage over the appearance of the first-ever female coach in the National Hockey League (NHL). The former athlete repeated the words of the odious Vladimir Zhirinovsky, commenting on Jessica Campbell's work in Seattle.

Maltsev said this in an interview with the VseProSport portal. The Russian demonstrated his typical intolerance and sexism by emphasizing that "women should be in bed and in the kitchen," and in addition, "women should play their own sport."

"What do I think about this? I don't know, I can say the words of Zhirinovsky here: women should be in bed and in the kitchen. Do I think they have no place in hockey? These are Zhirinovsky's words. Do I agree with them? Yes, of course. It's unusual to see them at the helm in hockey. Is it possible to have female coaches in Russian hockey? I think it's unlikely. I think that women should play their own sport. Do I mean, for example, gymnastics and figure skating? Yes," Maltsev said.

Campbell coached her debut regular season game as Seattle's assistant head coach, becoming the first female coach in the NHL.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Russian propagandist Dmitry Guberniev attacked legendary Czech goalkeeper Dominik Hasek with insults, who again criticized the participation of Russian hockey players in the NHL.
