A tough anabolic from the GDR times: 14-year-old swimmer from Russia caught doping

Zagardinova caught doping

Millana Zagardinova, a 14-year-old swimmer, became the youngest Russian athlete to be disqualified for using banned substances. The young athlete was suspended for four years for using steroids, while her coach and the director of the sports school were not punished.

Journalist Natalia Maryanchyk wrote about this on her Telegram channel. The media representative called the situation shocking. At the same time, she said, no one intends to investigate why Zagardinova is already violating anti-doping rules at such a young age.

"When a girl at 14 is caught doping, it's already unusual. When she gets caught on a hard anabolic drug from the GDR era, it's doubly surprising. She is the youngest disqualified in Russian history. And she's a swimmer, not even a gymnast or figure skater. It seemed to me that, at the very least, this was a reason to ask the people who were around: how did this happen? The director and the personal trainer were working quietly. Millana went on a disqualification that lasted almost a third of her life," Maryanchyk said.

We would like to remind you that after the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, the state doping system in Russia was exposed, which was, in particular, supported by the FSB.
