Ukrainian junior vice-champion in boxing Nazarii Malinkin was found dead after he disappeared and had not been in contact with family and friends since February 7. The body of the 16-year-old athlete was found in Lviv, and the police opened an investigation into a possible suicide.

This is stated on the Facebook page of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional police. It is noted that on February 7, at about three o'clock in the afternoon, the teenager left his home for Kolomiia and did not return. After some time, he was put on the wanted list, and on February 15, his body was found by law enforcement officers.

"The body was sent for examination. Investigators are conducting a pre-trial investigation under Article 115 (Suicide) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. All the circumstances of the incident are being established," the statement said.

Malinkin competed in the weight category of up to 51 kilograms. In addition to the national championship medal, he also won the Yevhen Kuzhelnyi Memorial Tournament.
