The queue for tickets to "The Witch of Konotop" in Kyiv stretched for hundreds of meters: people came three hours before the start of the sale

In the capital, hundreds of people formed a queue at the box office of the Franko Theater

The Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theater met the needs of the audience who could not attend performances due to fraudulent ticket resale by organizing a limited offline sale. To buy a coveted seat in the theater, theatergoers arrived three hours before the box office opened in Kyiv.

A long queue of people gathered outside to see "The Witch of Konotop," which will be shown in addition to the screening at the audience's request. The excitement was described on the theater's page.

The announcement of the additional show on April 8 appeared the day before. The audience was invited to buy tickets at the box office at the regular price on April 28 from 11:00 to 18:00. This decision was supposed to help fight resellers who buy entire rows of tickets and then sell them on marketplaces at a premium.

"This is the line at the theater box office to buy tickets for "The Witch of Konotop." The audience started gathering 3 hours before the start of the sale. We do not deny the problem with fraudsters reselling tickets, but this video shows the real, incredibly high demand for this performance. Today, playing 4 to 5 performances a month, the theater simply cannot allow everyone to see "The Witch of Konotop," the post says.

People stretched in line for hundreds of meters. According to Yuliia Veber, a photographer at the Franko Theater, tickets will be sold in limited quantities: four per person.

The problem with resellers, or, as blogger Anton Khodza calls them, "hucksters," was brought to the attention of the public in late February. The theater has already asked the marketplace to remove such offers, as they violate copyright and are often used by fraudsters selling fake tickets.
