Sometimes, at the end of a hard day, you want to relax a little and cheer yourself up. In such cases, a glass of wine is the perfect accompaniment to a delicious dinner. It will perfectly cope with tension and emphasize the taste of the dishes.

As it turns out, most people don't even realize that there are rules for holding a glass of wine. They play not only an aesthetic role but also improve the taste of the drink. A sommelier and Wine Enthusiast Anna-Christina Cabrales told Tyla how to hold a glass of wine correctly.

Many people know that you can hold a glass of wine in your hand. But only if the wine is white. In this case, it will be warmed by your body heat, which will significantly improve the taste. But in the case of red wine, you should act differently. To taste its true flavor, you should "swirl" the wine in a glass, then smell the aroma, and only then taste it. This process is called aeration and it significantly changes the taste of the drink, because the sense of smell is more responsible for the perception of taste.

The expert says that holding the glass not by the stem leads to contamination of the glass with food residues, which also significantly affects the taste of the drink. The sommelier believes that you should grip the glass by the base, with the rest of your fingers under the base, or stretch your thumb so that it sticks out at the top, while your fingers provide support from below.
