The day before, the Ukrainian national futsal team reached the semifinals of the World Cup for the second time in its history. At the tournament in Uzbekistan, coach Oleksandr Kosenko's team defeated Venezuela 9-4, which had sensationally knocked the Spaniards out of the tournament in the previous round.

Goalkeeper Oleksandr Sukhov became one of the heroes of the quarterfinal match between the Blue and Yellows and the Latin Americans. The HIT Kyiv football player was remembered not only for his saves, some of which were decisive but also for the moment in the 27th minute when he scored a phenomenal goal.

After receiving a pass near his goal, Sukhov decided to move to the center of the field. At this time, our goalkeeper's partners were distracting the opponents' attention, and Oleksandr took advantage of it. He made a real slalom run to the Venezuelan "frame" and drove the ball under the crossbar with his toe, making the score 7-3.
