Psychological drama Room to appear on Netflix

The Netflix streaming service has acquired the rights to broadcast the psychological drama Room, which was released in 2015. The film even won an Oscar for its masterful work, and 93% of critics gave it a positive review.

According to the Rotten Tomatoes, the movie stays in your mind for a long time after watching it. That's why the "tomatometer" (rating) reaches 93%. However, on IMDb, this figure is slightly lower, although remains high - 8.1/10. Metro writes about this opportunity to watch the movie on Netflix.

The film tells the story of a mother and son's introduction to the world after seven years of living in captivity in a barn. The title of the film comes from what the prisoners called the room. The woman was taken there at the age of 17.

In the story, after her release, she tries to cope with her own psychological problems while raising her young son, whom she gave birth to in captivity from the rapist and kidnapper Old Nick.

"There is an underlying hope in Room that is present even in its darkest moments," says film critic Keith Garlington.

The film stars Brie Larson, Jacob Tremblay, Sean Bridgers and others. However, it was Larson, also known for the films The Marvels, Greenberg and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, who won the Oscar for Best Actress in 2016.

The film project was also nominated for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay. It is worth noting that Room was based on the novel of the same name by Emma Donoghue, which was first published in 2010.
