Three trains have been launched in Ukraine on a popular summer route: how much do tickets cost

The Carpathians are one of the most popular summer destinations among Ukrainians, and the train is the most popular way for tourists to get there. Therefore, the routes of some trains to the mountains will be changed.

The update was announced by Ukrzaliznytsia. The changes will affect three regional routes.

Kolomyia – Lviv

Starting July 12, train #816/815 will start its route to Lviv from Chernivtsi on Fridays. Train schedule:

  • 05:32 – departure from Chernivtsi;
  • 06:44-06:54 – Kolomyia;
  • 07:43-07:55 – Ivano-Frankivsk;
  • 10:07 – arrival in Lviv.

Tickets for a seat in the first class will cost 310 UAH. The price for the second class is 222 UAH.

Rakhiv – Lviv

Starting from July 15, regional train No. 816/815 will run additionally on Mondays. Train schedule:

  • 03:48 – departure from Rakhiv;
  • 07:50-07:55 – Ivano-Frankivsk;
  • 10:07 – arrival in Lviv.

The train will pass through the stations of Yasinia, Lazeshchyna, Vorokhta, Tatariv-Bukovel, Yaremche, Nadvirna, and other tourist cities.

A seat in the first class will cost 326 UAH. A second-class ticket will cost UAH 235.

Lviv – Chernivtsi

From July 15, an additional regional train No. 818/817 will also start running on Mondays. Schedule:

  • 15:22 – departure from Lviv;
  • 17:34-17:42 – Ivano-Frankivsk;
  • 18:35-18:37 – Kolomyia;
  • 19:53 – arrival in Chernivtsi.

In addition, on July 12, the schedule of the suburban train #6438 Ivano-Frankivsk – Kolomyia will be adjusted. It will depart from the initial station at 05:27 instead of 05:55.

Train tickets are already on sale. First-class tickets cost UAH 326, second class tickets cost UAH 235.

Also, Ukrzaliznytsia has recently changed the rules for the transportation of animals. Owners of cats, small dogs and other animals will be able to transport them without a carrier for some time during the journey, or they can use a backpack with a waterproof absorbent bottom. Large dogs over 45 cm will be able to be transported in SV and RIC cars subject to full redemption of the compartment, as well as in Intercity+ subject to the redemption of all seats located in one block in a row.
