Foreign companies will be able to obtain construction permits in Ukraine through separate divisions and permanent establishments. The Cabinet of Ministers has granted the relevant permission. In particular, this will allow representative offices of Polish companies to carry out work on the arrangement of checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Polish border.

This is reported by the Government Portal. It is noted that the changes

  • are made to the CMU Resolution No. 314 of March 13, 2022;
  • concern the construction of facilities belonging to objects with medium (CC2) and significant (CC3) classes of consequences.

"The right to carry out construction activities will be granted by submitting a declaration of economic activity to the licensing authority free of charge without the need to obtain a license for the construction of facilities. The relevant rule will be in effect for the duration of martial law," the statement said.

It is stated that the adoption of this act will improve the legal regulation of foreign companies in Ukraine. In particular, it will enable representative offices of Polish companies in Ukraine to carry out work on the arrangement of checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Polish border.

"Such works are planned within the framework of the implementation of the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Poland on the provision of a loan on the terms of related assistance dated September 9, 2015," the government reminded.

Ukraine is modernizing its border infrastructure

Earlier, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that Ukraine was consistently modernizing its border infrastructure. In particular:

  • Road communication will be expanded on the border with Poland.

"In particular, another checkpoint "Nizhankovychi – Malkhovychi" will be opened," the Prime Minister said.

  • On the border with Moldova, with the support of USAID and the European Union, systematic upgrades of checkpoints are underway.

According to the Prime Minister, a decision was made to establish a joint Ukrainian-Moldovan commission to build a bridge across the Dniester in the Yampil-Kosuets area. "This will be a key link in the transport corridor between Kyiv and Chisinau," he said.

Recommendations

In addition, the Prime Minister noted, that the eCherha system is already operating at 28 checkpoints. In particular, according to him, almost:

  • 1.4 million trucks;
  • 100 thousand buses.

"This is an additional convenience and speed in crossing the state border," Shmyhal assured.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the Cabinet of Ministers also adopted a decision according to which electricity will not be cut off in Ukraine to consumers who use at least 80% of their own electricity. The Cabinet of Ministers adopted the relevant resolution.
