Not "Shuba": what dish to cook from beets and herring to make it look original on the holiday

If you're tired of preparing the "Shuba" salad for every New Year's Eve, but still like the combination of beetroot and herring flavors, you should think about what other dishes you can create with these ingredients. For example, you can let your imagination run wild and make an original and very beautiful appetizer.

Food blogger Olha Riabenko shared how to do it on Instagram. She also showed how to decorate the appetizer beautifully so that its appearance literally makes you want to taste it.

Ingredients for the spread

  • Beetroot – 1 pc.
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Potatoes – 1 pc.
  • Garlic – 1 clove.
  • Walnuts – 50 g
  • Sour cream or mayonnaise – 1.5 tsp.

Additional ingredients

  • Herring – 300 g
  • Bread
  • Dill

Method of preparation

1. Boil the beets, egg, and potatoes. Or bake the vegetables.

2. Add all the ingredients for the spread to a blender and beat until smooth.

3. Transfer to a pastry bag or slider bag.

4. Spread on bread and put herring and dill on top.
