In Ukraine, more than 80% of schools have alternative sources of electricity and heating. This was stated by Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi.

According to the official, in the event of unstable schedules and emergency outages, it will be impossible to study remotely, so full-time education should become a center where knowledge can be acquired. Lisovyi said this in an interview with the BBC.

"Today, more than 80% of our schools are equipped with alternative sources of electricity and heating. In the conditions of power outages, especially unclear schedules, especially emergency outages – God forbid attacks continue – the school becomes the only place where you can learn because then there will be no online education," the education minister said.

He noted that the authorities are preparing for the fact that the power may be cut off throughout the country, but are doing everything possible to ensure that access to electricity is maximized.

As a reminder, Lisovyi emphasized the need for Ukrainian schoolchildren to return to offline learning. According to the head of the Ministry of Education and Science, distance education negatively affects students' socialization skills. In particular, children do not develop the ability to learn, focus attention, interact with each other, with the teacher, and follow the rules of behavior.

If schoolchildren are not returned to offline education, Ukrainians will have to pay for the lost income, as human capital will be lost, the Minister of Education notes. According to him, online learning is particularly disastrous for elementary school students. After all, it is during this period that the formation of basic socialization skills takes place.
