Ukrainian biathlete Khrystyna Dmytrenko admitted that during the relay race at the World Cup in Östersund, she lost sensitivity in her hands due to the extreme cold (it was -7 in Sweden). That's why she had problems shooting, which cost her a lot of time.
"My hands were completely frozen. I take this extra round, but I can't feel whether I have it in my hands or not. I look at it, try to turn it around, insert it, but I can't. I just dropped three rounds out of my hands. It's very embarrassing, first of all, in front of the girls, in front of the coaches," Dmytrenko said in an interview with Suspilne.sport.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, on November 29, the Ukrainian women's biathlon team failed in the relay at the first stage of the World Cup. Coach Mykola Zots's wards showed neither shooting accuracy nor speed and finished 12th.
