How to make delicious sauerkraut: it will be very crispy and juicy
Sauerkraut is a traditional Ukrainian dish that is not only delicious but also healthy. Thanks to a simple recipe, it can be easily prepared at home, resulting in a product rich in vitamins and probiotics. Learn how to quickly ferment cabbage using a classic recipe.
The idea of making juicy sauerkraut was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Alla with the nickname gotuemo rasom. The vegetable can be stored for a long time.
Ingredients:
- cabbage - 2 kg.
- bell pepper - 3 pcs.
- carrots (medium) - 2 pcs.
- garlic - 3-5 cloves
Ingredients for the marinade:
- water - 1 liter.
- sugar - 100 g
- salt - 50 g
- bay leaves - 2 pcs.
- peppercorns - 10 pcs.
- vinegar - 100 g
- sunflower oil - 100 g
Method of preparation:
1. Remove any damaged leaves from the cabbage, cut it in half and slice it in a way that suits you.
2. Grate the carrots on a fine or coarse grater.
3. Peel the pepper and cut it into small slices.
4. Also chop the garlic.
5. Add pepper, carrots, garlic to the cabbage and mix well.
6. Put the cabbage in the prepared dish and tamp well
7. For the marinade, add sugar, salt, bay leaf, peppercorns, vinegar, oil to 1 liter of water.
8. Mix everything and put on the fire.
9. Bring to a boil and pour the boiling marinade over the cabbage.
10. Cover, let cool and put in a cold place or refrigerator for 3 days.
