A community in Salzburg. It was first mentioned in 1243. In the early eighteenth century, the area became the center of Crypto-Protestantism. Nowadays, the place is better known as a ski resort.

We recommend visiting Schloss Höch first. It is located 11 kilometers away. The castle was built as a residence between 1000 and 1100. Today it often hosts cultural events. You can see antique furniture and household items inside.

There is also a large thermal complex with outdoor and indoor pools - Wasserwelt Wagrain.

If you have more time, we recommend going to Winnerfall. The waterfall is one of the largest karst springs in the Tennen Mountains. It was first explored in 1911.

Sauris, Italy

Comune in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, Udine Province. According to a legend, the settlement was founded in 1300. The locals speak three languages, mostly Friulian.

Be sure to visit the fabulous Lago di Sàuris. The artificial lake has turquoise and emerald shades. The reservoir was formed as a result of the creation of a dam in 1948. There are numerous hiking trails for walking or cycling. By the way, to get to the location, you need to go through three tunnels 600, 250 and 650 meters long. Keep in mind that humidity prevails in the underground passages.

Also, go to the Centro Etnografico di Sauris. The museum houses exhibits on traditional life, crafts and folklore of the village.

For those who like intoxicating drinks, we suggest tasting Zahrebeer Ssa Birrificio. Here, tourists can also try Zahre Beer, a branded craft beer.

Rupit, Spain

A village in the county of Osona. It received its official name in 1959. It is famous for its medieval atmosphere and stone houses.

A community in the canton of Uri. It is also one of the best ski resorts in the country. Together with the neighboring districts of Sedrun and Disentis, it forms a large region with numerous snowboarding pistes. But there's plenty to do in the fall, too.

First, we recommend taking a walk to Lake of Lucendro (Lago di Lucendro). The lake was formed as a result of the construction of a dam in 1947. There are several hiking trails around the reservoir.

Also, be sure to visit the unique underground museum - Sasso San Gottardo. It is located in a former military fortress on the San Gottardo Pass. Here you can see exhibitions dedicated to the history of defense structures. Tourists can also learn more about the natural resources of the region, especially about the rock crystals. Also, visit the Furka Cogwheel Steam Railway, an old steam railway. Here, travelers can go on a tour of the picturesque landscapes, including the Furka Pass.

Bohinjska Bistrica, Slovenia

A settlement in the Bohinj municipality. It is the starting point for many tourist routes. In particular, to the lake of the same name and the Triglav National Park.
