A survival kit for children: what should be folded

During air raids during the day, students in schools and kindergartens in Ukraine should definitely stay in shelters until the danger passes. That is why every child needs a survival kit, which parents should put together in advance.

The backpack should be comfortable, light and compact, and unnecessary things - do not overload children's shoulders. The Ministry for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine urges to adhere to such recommendations. When an air alert is announced, children should go down to the shelter as quickly as possible, and a heavy backpack can prevent a lively evacuation.

In particular, it is important to fold the child it is a backpack, not a bag, because of the ease of use. Going down to the shelter with other children of the school or daycare center will be more comfortable with hands free. In daycare centers, for example, it is more common for children to go in pairs. If you carry a bag in your hands, however, children are more likely to be more likely to get tired.

What should be in the survival kit of a schoolchild

According to the recommendation of the aforementioned ministry, a survival kit should contain only the essentials:

  • nutritional bars, long-lasting snacks;
  • a bottle of drinking water;
  • wet wipes;
  • a warm, light blanket;
  • a note with the child's full name, contact information for parents and close relatives (names, phone numbers, addresses);
  • an extra phone (if possible) along with a charging cable and a poverbank;
  • medication, if the child is on a regular course (informing the class teacher in advance and enclosing instructions on how the medication should be given);
  • a few things that will create an atmosphere of comfort for the child. It can be a book, a coloring book or a favorite toy.

Some schools recommend using name bracelets with parents' contacts instead of notes. The child puts it on before the start of classes and wears it during the whole time in the educational institution, including in the shelter.

What to put in a survival kit to kindergarten

To the collection of survival kit for preschool children should be approached with special attention, because most often to pack and take things to the shelter help educators. That is why backpacks for kids should be as compact and lightweight as possible. Most often, in the gardens give separate recommendations, what to fold, because there are no clear instructions for preschoolers.

In particular, it is obligatory for the child to have a note, a bracelet or signed clothes, by which it will be possible to get information about the child and one or both parents. Some daycare centers recommend putting a whistle in a survival kit.

The most important thing for a child at daycare is toys. So, to give the child something to distract him or her and feel safe, it is a good idea to put a favorite toy or one that he or she chooses. Children who wear diapers should definitely fold a few for a change. This can also apply to a change of clothes for emergencies.

Otherwise, the recommendations on the composition of the survival kit for preschoolers do not differ from those for school students.
