Russia set to film a TV series about Kyiv Princess Olga: they want to "rethink history" and "tell it in a new way".
By order of the Russian propaganda "First Channel" a series about Kyiv's Princess Olga will be created. The director is Russian Valeria Gai Germanika, who promised to "rethink the story" and tell it "in a new way".
There is no doubt that the film will be full of propaganda and distortions of history, because the truth is not a priority for First Channel. Russian media reported on the details of the project (please scroll to the bottom of the page to see pictures).
Shooting 8-episode historical drama, as it is called in Russia, will begin this summer. Now passes casting for major and minor roles.
"In a serial the authors will try to reconsider a history of X century and in a new way to tell about destiny of the first ruler of Rus who has accepted Christianity", - write propagandists.
Valeria Gai Germanika boldly assured that only she could make a film about the ruler of Kyiv.
"I knew I wanted to do the best I could and be useful on that project that I felt only I could shoot. Now I let myself choose, I shoot rarely. And I like it, because the creative force accumulates, "- said in a commentary.
Recall: Princess Olga, recognized as a saint, was born in Kyiv. She was the wife of Prince Igor Rurikovich. After her husband's death and before transferring power to her son Svyatoslav she was actually the ruler of Rus in 944-964.
The ruler also died in Kyiv, where she was buried. It is not difficult to guess why the Russians undertook a film adaptation of the Ukrainian story. Obviously, the series will be filled with propaganda narratives and aims to create the illusion of "brotherhood" between the Russian and Ukrainian peoples.
Previously OBOZREVATEL wrote how the star of the film "Cadets" Korchevnikov became the mouthpiece of the propaganda of the Russian Federation and what "payback" has befallen him. Read more about this at the link.
