Quick pickled tomatoes: how to do without sterilization
Pickled tomatoes are just as delicious and a favorite snack as cucumbers. Ideally, they are juicy, firm, and hold their shape perfectly. And it can all be done without long sterilization and boiling.
Foodblogger Diana with the nickname smishna_diana on her Instagram page shared a recipe for pickled tomatoes with aspirin. This method of canning makes the tomatoes balanced and also allows them to be stored longer.
Ingredients on a 3 liter jar:
- tomatoes
- aspirin - 3 pcs
- sugar - 6 tbsp.
- vinegar - 7 tbsp.
- salt - 1,5 tbsp.
Extras:
- carrots
- parsley
- pea pepper
- bay leaves - 2 pcs.
Method of preparation:
1. Place chopped carrots, parsley, pepper and bay leaves in the bottom of the jar.
2. Stack the tomatoes.
3. Add aspirin pills, sugar, salt and pour vinegar. Fill the jar with boiling water.
4. Seal jars hermetically with iron lids, turn them upside down and leave so until completely cooled. After - store the jars in the cellar.
Important: be sure to make sure that the aspirin dissolves, it can even be crumbled.
