No longer recognizable! How the cast of "Beverly Hills" has changed after 33 years. Photos then and now
In 1990, viewers around the world first saw the TV series "Beverly Hills, 90210" on their screens, which in 10 seasons has definitely become a cult. It showed the life of American teenagers, touching on important and understandable for everyone themes: love, friendship, first sex, infidelity, difficult relationships with parents and peers, addiction, early pregnancy, homophobia, racism and even AIDS. The project had a multi-million dollar army of fans that seemed likely to allow the actors of the series to build an overachieving career, but as is often the case, "Beverly Hills, 90210" was the pinnacle of recognition and popularity for them.
Almost 33 years have passed since the first episode of the cult series. OBOZREVATEL decided to tell and show how its stars have changed.
Jason Priestley (Brandon Walsh)
The leading role in the series is played by Jason Priestly, who is soon to turn 54. This handsome man has won more than one woman's heart, falling in love with young female fans around the world. In 1998, he performed not only his acting duties, but also tried his hand as a director of certain episodes, and then took the chair of executive producer. Already during the filming of the final season, Priestley began to worry that he would not be able to outdo the success of the series. His fears, alas, justified. The actor continued to be perceived exclusively as Brandon Walsh, because of which at one time he even got a depression.
Shannen Doherty (Brenda Walsh)
The actress played one of the key roles in the series, but after the fourth season she was bid farewell. Rumor has it that the producers did not intend to remove Brenda Walsh, but simply could not work with Dougherty because of her intolerable character, which led to serious disagreements and conflicts. The actress became more popular thanks to another cult series about the witch sisters, Enchanted. However, there, and she did not last long because of her behavior - she was kicked out after the third season. Now Shannen is not filming. In 2015, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The cancer receded for a while, but in 2020, the star announced that she had a relapse and was now in stage four.
Jenny Garth (Kelly Taylor)
Now Jenny Garth is 51 years old, and at 18 she was the main hottie of the series. The role of a rich girl with whom the whole school dreamed of being friends, brought the actress unprecedented success. However, after the end of the project, in which Garth was filmed all 10 seasons, new proposals on it did not poured out. The actress starred in some little-known films, and then, most often, in cameo roles. But the star calls her three daughters from her first marriage, whom she is raising with her third husband, the main prize in her life.
Brian Austin Green (David Silver)
The actor began starring in the series when he was only 17 years old. The role of a junior high school student who sought to make friends with high school students became the most famous in Green's career. Work in other projects did not have such success. And while fans of "Beverly Hills, 90210" remember Green as David Silver, people who have not watched the show know him as Megan Fox's ex-husband. They met on the set of the TV series "Hope and Belief." Fox was 13 years younger. Their marriage, which was dissolved in 2021, produced three wonderful babies.
Tori Spelling (Donna Martin)
17-year-old Tori Spelling got into the series thanks to her father, who was its producer. However, the actress managed to fall in love with the audience without her father's influence. After the closure of the project, she starred a lot, although for most viewers she remained Donna Martin. By the way, on the screens, the actress played the role of Kelly Taylor's best friend, played by Jenny Garth. Their friendship grew into a real one and continues to this day. In 2007, the actress was ordained as a priest who can marry gay couples, she also tried herself as a jewelry designer and writer. Now together with her husband she raises five children.
Gabrielle Carteris (Andrea Zuckerman)
At the beginning of filming Gabrielle Carteris was 29 years old, while the other actors who played schoolboys were 17-21. Nevertheless, the actress wonderfully coped with her role as a shy editor of the school newspaper, hopelessly in love with the handsome Brandon Walsh. Carteris' career can be called truly successful. You will be surprised, because probably you have not seen the actress in popular films. The fact is that Carteris really does not appear in the frame, but in 2016 she became president of the U.S. Screen Actors Guild.
Previously OBOZREVATEL wrote how the stars of the series "Gilmore Girls" have changed. The last episode aired about 16 years ago, and many of the actors now are simply unrecognizable.
