How to make the kitchen shine after the New Year: tips
Cleaning the kitchen after preparing food for the holiday table can be very tedious. After all, you have to cook, bake, and fry a lot, and these are all processes that leave a lot of dirt behind.
However, cleaning experts know how to systematize the cleaning of the kitchen after the holidays. OBOZ.UA has collected their most useful life hacks. By cleaning in this sequence, you will return the shine to the kitchen.
Defrost the refrigerator
Before the holidays, you probably loaded the fridge and freezer with a lot of different foods. Now that the appliances are almost empty, it's a good time to defrost and wash them. This will help get rid of unpleasant odors and improve the efficiency of the refrigerator. At the same time, go through its contents for expired and spoiled food.
Organize your cabinets and drawers
While rearranging food in the cupboards - cereals, pasta, spices, sugar, etc. - you probably spilled something somewhere. Now you can take your time and clean it up. Take the supplies out of the cupboards and drawers, sort them by expiration date, collect damaged dishes separately, and wash and disinfect the shelves. This will free up a little more space, and free space always means a sense of order and cleanliness.
Clean the surfaces
You've cut and mixed all kinds of things on the tables and countertops. Bacteria and various dirt could get there from meat and vegetables. It's time to clean these surfaces properly. Choose the right detergent for the job and don't forget to use a disinfectant to treat everything after cleaning.
Take care of switches and knobs
During the holiday preparations, you've probably grabbed knobs and switches in the kitchen many times. However, your hands were not always perfectly washed. So now it's time to take care of the hygiene of these points. Clean them properly with soap and water and treat them with a disinfectant spray.
Clean the sink
The sink, which is heavily loaded during the holidays, needs not only external cleaning. First, pour a preventive dose of drain cleaner down the drain. This can be just a cup of baking soda, to which a cup of white vinegar is added, and after 15 minutes, rinse the pipe with hot water. You can also use baking soda and vinegar to clean the sink itself and polish the faucets. Take the same amount of both products and make a paste from them, which you use to treat everything, then rinse and wipe dry.
