An installation with 333 sunflowers was installed in the heart of New York City on the occasion of Day of Unity of Ukraine. Photo
In downtown New York City, Ukrainians were congratulated on Day of Unity of Ukraine. Near the Flatiron Plaza between Fifth Avenue and Broadway, right across from Madison Square Park, there is a magnificent installation with 333 sunflowers.
It was installed on Sunday, January 22, so the citizens and tourists can enjoy the original flowerbed while walking. OBOZREVATEL decided to show how the mini sunflower field looks in the middle of the stone jungle (to see the photo, scroll to the end of the page).
"The Power of Unity. Today we celebrate Day of Unity of Ukraine, the birthday of modern Ukraine. This year, let's make it a day of reflection, resistance, and hope for a free tomorrow," the booth near the installation says.
New Yorkers and visitors were encouraged to take pictures with sunflowers and talk about Ukraine in their social networks.
The installation consists of 333 fresh flowers and artificial stones from which sunflowers supposedly grow. The footage shows how unusual the bed looks against the background of skyscrapers.
Judging by the photo, the installation is actively approached by people who take pictures with the flowers.
Those who cannot take their own photo have the opportunity to join the initiative by posting any photo of a sunflower and using the hashtag #UnifyUkraine.
OBOZREVATEL wrote earlier that President Vladimir Zelensky congratulated the citizens on the Day of Unification of Ukraine on January 22. He noted that this historical event transmitted two wisdoms to the next generations of Ukrainians.
