A Ukrainian woman met with Prince William and told him about her native Kherson. Photo.
Prince William, the eldest son of King Charles III of Great Britain and his first wife, Diana, Princess of Wales, arrived in Poland to visit one of the refugee shelters. The monarch played hide-and-seek and table tennis with the children, and also talked to Ukrainian students. Victoria Serhiichuk, a native of Kherson, told the Duke a story about her hometown.
This was reported on the Vgoru Telegram channel. Victoria is a student of the Faculty of Education at Kherson State University. The girl managed to talk to Prince William, tell him about her life abroad and her favourite city in the south of Ukraine (to see the photo, scroll to the end).
"The Prince was interested in how students from Ukraine got to Poland and what they do here, how they develop and whether they plan to return home. Of course, Victoria shared her experience and said that Poland is good, but our home is Ukraine, which needs to be developed," said the rector of the university, Oleksandr Spivakovsky.
The heir to the throne was surprised by the generosity and hospitality of the Polish people, who sheltered Ukrainian women with babies. He stressed that after his visit to Poland, he understood why refugees remain so positive after the difficulties they have experienced.
"Thanks to the generosity of the Polish people, people fleeing the war in Ukraine have found refuge. Unfortunately, the humanitarian crisis continues today, with many refugees seeking shelter in accommodation centres like the one we visited today," said the Prince of Wales.
Earlier, OBOZREVATEL wrote that during a trip to Warsaw, Prince William was spotted in an LGBT restaurant. The son of the British monarch had dinner at a restaurant for people with a non-traditional orientation, a table where his companions from Kensington Palace had booked.
