Sexologist dispels 7 major myths about safe sex

Sexologist Tetiana Slavina dispelled 7 popular myths about safe sex. According to her, a million people in the world are infected with sexually transmitted infections every day.

She published the post on her personal Instagram page. "Safe sex is the main condition for having sex in life, but there are many myths here," Tatiana wrote (to see the photo, scroll to the bottom of the page).

• Myth #1: "Sex with a virgin is safe"

The expert assures that the presence of a hymen or the belief that "this is her first time" does not mean that this is true or that there was no oral or anal sex before. It is also a myth that the hymen can be restored on a gynecological chair in 15 minutes.

• Myth #2: "Oral sex can not lead to STIs" (sexually transmitted infections)

The "bouquet" of infections transmitted through anal sex is so impressive that it can discourage the practice of such caresses.

• Myth #3: "Washing with chlorhexidine eliminates STI infection"

The sexologist insists that this is not true, and chlorhexidine can only "burn" the microflora, which can even accelerate the infection with STDs.

• Myth #4: "I feel good after unprotected intercourse, so I'm not infected"

Many diseases have a latent period, after which the diagnosis will "make itself felt".

• Myth #5: "Sex during menstruation makes pregnancy impossible"

The expert notes that it's not about the partner's poor reaction but about the pre-ejaculate, in which sperm are "frequent guests."

Bacteria and viruses penetrate the body quickly enough through microcracks in the mucous membranes and skin that they cannot be washed away with urine or water.
