Perhaps most people have been in a situation where they had to wear someone else's shoes, for example, when visiting. But some people try to avoid it because they believe it will bring bad luck.

OBOZ.UA found out more about this superstition. According to popular belief, some things accumulate the energy of their owner and this can negatively affect others.

People believe that someone else's shoes can lead to problems and troubles in life. You can get diseases and emotional experiences from the owner, so it is better to wear only your own shoes.

If girls exchange shoes, it can lead to conflict and misunderstandings between them. This increases the risk of getting into a love triangle that will break up the girlfriends.

OBOZ.UA also explained why you shouldn't take out the trash after sunset. This popular superstition has two explanations. One stems from the tradition of Ukrainians living in close-knit communities where everyone knows everyone. Under such conditions, a person who takes out the trash under the cover of darkness could be thought to be hiding something.

The second is more mystical. It says that while a person is taking out the trash, evil spirits wandering in the dark can enter the house and stay all night.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA explained why you should not swim in the river at night and what it can lead to.
