This simple homemade mixture will scrub your shower to a shine: how to prepare

Most people think that the dirtiest place in the bathroom is the toilet, but this is not the case. The real hotbed of bacteria and fungi in the bathroom is the shower. When we wash ourselves, we wash off dead skin and hair particles. Together with water and the remains of cosmetics, they create a favorable environment for the growth of microorganisms.

That's why experts advise not just cleaning the shower but regularly disinfecting it. It's not necessary to use aggressive chemicals, such as chlorine bleaches, for this purpose. You can prepare an effective mixture yourself. OBOZ.UA tells you about such a recipe.

What you will need

All the ingredients for the product can be found in your own kitchen or in the nearest grocery store. To prepare it, you will need:

• baking soda - 0.5 cups;
• white vinegar - 0.5 cups;
• juice of one lemon.

A mixing bowl, a sponge or soft cloth for cleaning, and a towel to wipe the shower pan with after washing are also needed. Once you have everything at hand, you can start working.

How to prepare and use the shower cleaner mixture

Start by mixing the baking soda and white vinegar in a small bowl. Both products should react and start to foam. After that, add the juice of one lemon: it will enhance the properties of the mixture and give it a pleasant aroma. Mix everything thoroughly and apply an even layer on the tray with a sponge.

For the product to work, it needs at least a minute, and preferably 3-5 minutes. During this time, the baking soda, vinegar, and citric acid will destroy dirt, including limescale, and disinfect the surface.

After that, wipe the pan with a soft, non-abrasive sponge or cloth in a circular motion. When the cleaning is complete, it's best to leave the product on for at least a minute to allow it to work in the areas that were under the dirt layer.

All you have to do now is rinse off the remaining mixture with warm water and wipe the shower tray dry. This cleaning should be repeated once a week to ensure hygienic cleanliness in the bathroom.
