There is still work to be done in the garden: sowing calendar for December 2023
Although this year's winter began even before December, true gardening enthusiasts know that the work involved in the cold season does not stop. Therefore, they do not stop following the lunar sowing calendar, which allows them to do everything on time.
OBOZ.UA asked what dates in December 2023 will be successful. And when it will be possible to work with winter crops and seedlings, to prepare a plot for future beds.
Moon phases in December 2023
To plan your work properly, you need to know the exact phases of the moon in December. It will begin and end on the waning moon. In general, the distribution will be as follows:
- December 1-12 and 28-31 - the waning moon;
- December 13 - new moon;
- December 14-26 - the growing moon;
- December 27 - full moon.
The 12th, 13th, 16th, 17th, and 27th will be bad dates for any sowing and gardening work. In general, the calendar for December looks like this.

How to schedule work on good dates
If you are planning to plant winter plants in the garden or flowers in the garden or in pots, choose dates according to the crop. These are the days that will be most successful:
- onions - December 6, 10, 14, 15, 23, 24, 27, 28, 29;
- radish, daikon radish - December 6, 14, 15, 18, 19, 21, 23, 24, 28, 29;
- greens and aromatic herbs - December 18, 19, 21, 28, 29;
- flowers - December 6, 7, 25, 26.
Among other works, it is better to plan for the following days:
- repair and maintenance of greenhouses and hotbeds - December 7-9, 25, 26;
- treatment against rodents - December 16, 17, 27;
- uprooting - December 12, 16, 16, 21, 22, 27.
Harvesting can also be planned according to the lunar calendar. Thus, good dates for canning will be December 1-17, 23-31, and for pickling and salting - December 14, 15, 23-26.
