The first trailer of the second part of the film "Dune": what is known about the continuation of the saga

Warner Bros. presented the first trailer of the long-awaited film "Dune: Part Two" by Denis Villeneuve. The sequel to the saga, which has already become a cult movie, will be released worldwide on November 3 this year.

The trailer was announced on the YouTube channel of Warner Bros. In less than an hour since its release, it has been viewed by over a million Internet users (please scroll to the bottom of the page to see it).

Filming of the second part ended in December 2022. It took place in Budapest, Abu Dhabi, locations in Italy and Jordan. The same team, including director Denis Villeneuve, composer Hans Zimmer and cameraman Greg Fraser, worked on the sequel.

"Dune 2 will tell the story of Paul Atreides' mythical journey: how he teams up with Chani and the Fremen and gets on the warpath against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Faced with a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he seeks to prevent a terrible future that only he can foresee," reads the description under the video.

Timothy Chalamet (Paul Mouad'Dib Atreides), Zendaya (Chani), Rebecca Ferguson (Lady Jessica), Javier Bardem (Stilgar), Josh Brolin (Gurney Halleck), Stellan Skarsgard (Baron Vladimir Harkonnen) and Dave Batista (Glossu Rabban) returned to their roles in "Dune 2".

However, judging by the trailer, viewers are waiting for new characters. Thus, in the second part will appear Christopher Walken, who will play Emperor Shaddam IV. His daughter, Princess Irulan Corrino on the screens will embody Florence Pugh. Also joining the saga is Austin Butler - he will play the nephew and heir to Baron Harkonnen Feyda-Raut.

The literary basis for the picture's script was the second half of Frank Herbert's science fiction novel "Dune". It is expected that in the second part the character of Zendaya - Chani - will be given more attention.
