"Switching over to catfish snipers": the network exploded with jokes after Russian Federation's statement about Ukraine's "combat mosquitoes and lice"
The speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko said that the report on the "biological laboratory" in Ukraine, telling about the "battle" mosquitoes, ticks and lice, has been sent "to the U.S. Congress and all the parliaments of the world". Such words provoked a wave of jokes and memes online: users noted that Russian propaganda hit rock bottom again.
For example, on June 28, at a plenary session of the 10th Forum of Regions of Russia and Belarus, Matvienko said that a year ago the Russian State Duma created an entire "parliamentary commission" with "scientists and experts" to investigate the activities of "biological laboratories" in Ukraine. According to her, the conclusions were "horrifying" (to see the video, scroll to the end of the news).
"We sent the report of our commission to the U.S. Congress and to all the parliaments of the world, so that they would think about it and be alarmed. This is a very great threat and a great danger. They don't even deny that the Pentagon funds them ("biological laboratories" - Ed.)," Matvienko said.
The report claims that the U.S. allegedly began developing biological weapons as early as World War II. Since then, "400 laboratories around the world" have allegedly been set up to, among other things, assess the possibility of using insects to introduce viruses into crops.
"It is clear that this type of weapon is also applicable to humans and animals," the report's authors said.
They assure that about 50 such laboratories allegedly operate in Ukraine. There, the Americans are allegedly researching virus transmission using mosquitoes, ticks and even lice. They have also allegedly patented a drone to spread infected mosquitoes, allowing them to incapacitate the enemy without any risk to the U.S. military.
Following such claims, a new wave of jokes and memes about "combat" insects in Ukraine exploded online.
"We thought combat Ukrainian mosquitoes could no longer be surpassed by anything. Suddenly lice appear", "I wonder where the locusts are hiding", "So now you can't kill mosquitoes?", "Tell me what Matvienko smokes. A friend of mine asks", "It seems that you are not afraid to look silly", "I've been wondering where have the mosquitoes gone, and here they are, enchanced in biological laboratories", "We were declassified ... Switching to ladybugs and do not forget about catfish snipers", - users write.
The Ukrainian military also made fun of the new "masterpiece" of Russian propaganda:
