Never leave your toothbrush in a hotel bathroom: what can happen
Conflict situations in hotels are not uncommon, both guests and management can break the rules of good manners. The main thing is not to cross a thin line and to be able to apologize in time not to worsen the already tense atmosphere.
Former hotel manager Melly, known in the TikTok network as @melly_creations, often shares her tips and tricks about traveling and the peculiarities of staying in hotels. She told us from her own experience why you shouldn't leave your toothbrush in the hotel bathroom.
Let's imagine a situation: you arrived at a hotel in a bad mood and had a little argument with the front desk or maid. You are offered a room, you lay out your things, put your hygiene products and toothbrush in the bathroom and go about your business or for a walk.
An experienced manager would not advise leaving your toothbrush in a prominent place, especially if you were rude to the staff. Mellie recounted instances from her practice where staff have misused the toothbrushes of ill-mannered guests: cleaning certain areas of the bathroom with them, for example.
"Keep your toothbrush away to avoid such situations," Mellie stressed, adding that she "never did that and would fire staff for such behavior."
Social network users were stunned and left surprised comments, noting that having traveled and stayed in hotels for years, they could not even imagine that such a thing could happen.
Of course, the described situation should not be taken as a common practice. At the very least, a guest may notice that his brush has been used by someone and complain to the management of the establishment. It is unlikely that the staff will risk the place and resort to such actions for the sake of revenge on a dissatisfied client. And in general I would like to believe that the staff and guests adhere to the rules of mutual respect and courtesy.
