The McDonald's fast food chain will resume operations in Odesa on March 28. Starting from this date, five outlets will be opened at once. Several more restaurants are planned to open in the city in April.

This was reported to OBOZREVATEL by the company's press service. Thus, McDonald's in Odesa will open at the following addresses:

  • 17 Panteleimonivska Ave;
  • 23/1 Deribasivska St;
  • 1 Independence Square;
  • 1-b Chernyakhovskogo St;
  • 14a Krasnova Street.

"Tomorrow, March 28, McDonald's Ukraine plans to reopen five restaurants in Odesa. In this way, the company continues to expand its geographic footprint to support local communities in Ukraine and respond to the numerous requests from Ukrainians to bring back their favourite dishes," the company said.

McDonald's restaurants have been closed in Odesa since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24. Thus, the chain is returning to the city after more than a year of suspension.

All establishments under martial law will adhere to strict operating rules, the company said. In particular:

  • when an air raid is announced, the team will complete all processes and close the establishment so that everyone can go to the shelter;
  • it will be possible to place an order in the restaurant through express windows or on McDrive;
  • in the first days of operation, the halls will be open for a limited number of visitors to avoid crowds and for the teams to better practice evacuation procedures;
  • restaurants will offer a reduced menu; the menu will be expanded as supply chains are restored and warehouses are ramped up.

"Following the south, McDonald's plans to open restaurants in eastern Ukraine. In particular, restaurants are expected to open in Dnipro at the end of April," the company added.

As OBOZREVATEL reported earlier, the opening of McDonald's restaurants in Kyiv caused a stir. There were queues and traffic jams of up to 200 metres.

In total, since September 2022, McDonald's has reopened more than 60% of its restaurants in the centre and west of Ukraine. The restaurants are now open in Kyiv, Boryspil, Hora, Sofiyivska Borshchahivka, Lesniki, Lviv, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk.
