How to grow a sweet and juicy plum: three rules of care and how to feed in the spring
Plum is not only a delicious and flavorful fruit, but also a storehouse of vitamins and minerals. It is rich in vitamin C, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, and fiber, making it a valuable addition to the diet.

It is especially important to properly care for plums in the spring when the trees wake up after winter.
Pruning
The first pruning is carried out in early spring before the first buds begin to open, but after the risk of recurrent frosts has passed. You need to remove all dry, damaged, and diseased branches, as well as thin out the crown. If this is not done, you are unlikely to get a bountiful harvest.
Also, do not forget about the autumn pruning. It should be carried out a few weeks after the beginning of the calendar fall.

Fertilizing
In spring, plum trees need fertilizing to help them recover from winter and build up green mass. At the beginning of the season, you should water the tree with a special solution. To prepare it, you will need a bucket of water, two tablespoons of potassium sulfate and urea.
After the flowering stage, a solution of nitrophoska will have a good effect on the plant. You will need to dilute three spoons of the substance in a bucket of water.
At the moment when the fruits begin to form, you should dilute the fermented manure in water in a ratio of 1:20 and water the soil.
At the end of the season, dissolve two spoons of superphosphate and potassium sulfate in a bucket of water and spray it on the tree.
Protection
Plum, like any other plant, can be affected by various diseases and pests. To protect against them, it is important to carry out preventive treatments.
In the spring, it is worth treating the trees with a 3% solution of Bordeaux liquid.
In addition, you need to prevent calcium deficiency in the soil. For this purpose, organic dolomite fertilizer is a good choice.
