How to easily clean every part of the oven: kitchen life hacks

ObozrevatelLife
Regular cleaning of the oven will extend its lifespan

When housewives frequently use their ovens to prepare meals, they also need to remember to clean them regularly. Grease and food particles that remain in the oven can lead to unpleasant odors over time.

OBOZREVATEL has gathered some effective tips to keep the appliance in good and tidy condition.

Regular cleaning of the oven

Wipe the oven surface after each cooking session, and clean it thoroughly every three months. It all depends on the frequency of use. Taking care of your oven will help it work efficiently and keep it free of dirt buildup.

Using the self-cleaning function

Modern ovens have a self-cleaning function, but it's best to use it when the house is well-ventilated. This is because the oven releases fumes, including carbon monoxide, during cleaning. Therefore, open the windows and turn on the ventilation.

Cleaning the inside of the oven

To do this, you will need special oven cleaners that can be found at any hardware store. But you can also make your cleaner. Mix ½ cup of baking soda with three tablespoons of water and rub the solution on the dirty surface. Leave it on overnight and wipe it off in the morning with a damp cloth dipped in vinegar. Remember to wear gloves and goggles to keep the mixture out of your eyes and skin. Before cleaning, cover the heating elements with foil.

How to clean the grids

The grids need regular cleaning as they are the most soiled. For light stains, dishwashing detergent and hot water are sufficient. If dirt remains, soak the racks for 15-30 minutes in hot water and laundry soap and add a few scoops of baking soda, then wipe them with a sponge.

Oven door

Do not use harsh chemicals to clean the door, as they can create toxic fumes. Instead, soak a sponge in soapy, hot water and wipe the surface.

Glass of the oven door

To clean off any dirt, remove the door from the oven. Use a small scrubbing brush to remove any debris from the corners of the oven. Make a mixture of baking soda and vinegar and wipe the glass with it; if the stains are not removed, leave the mixture for 10 minutes and wipe again with a microfiber cloth. Also, use this mixture to clean the oven handles.
