How to easily clean a burnt iron: a little-known life hack

Burnt stains often appear on the iron, which can leave marks on clothes. This can be caused by the wrong ironing temperature and poor-quality water. Therefore, you need to be careful with the appliance so as not to damage it.

OBOZ.UA has found useful life hacks that will help you quickly cope with this. To do this, you will need natural ingredients that are available in every home.

Baking soda

Baking soda will quickly remove carbon deposits and get rid of the unpleasant odor. Mix two tablespoons of baking soda and one tablespoon of water to form a thick paste. Then apply the mixture to the necessary areas and leave it on for 5-7 minutes. Wipe it off with a cloth and you can use the appliance again.

Hydrogen peroxide

Dip a piece of cotton or a cotton pad in the solution and wipe the iron thoroughly. You will immediately notice that the carbon will start to come off and stay on the cotton. Thanks to its chemical compounds, peroxide can quickly dissolve the limescale. After cleaning, wipe the iron with a damp cloth.

Salt

To do this, turn on the iron and wait for it to heat up. Next, pour a handful of salt on the paper and "iron" it with the hot iron. The combination of solid particles and heat will dissolve the carbon deposits. If there is still dirt, wipe it off with a damp cloth after the appliance has cooled down.

Vinegar and ammonia

Mix vinegar and alcohol in a one-to-one ratio, dampen a cloth, and wipe the areas thoroughly. Then wipe everything again with a clean cloth.

Paraffin wax

Wrap a paraffin candle in a cotton cloth and gently rub it over the iron when it is on. Do this over a sheet of paper because the high temperature will melt the wax and drip onto the floor.

But do not use this method for irons with steam holes because paraffin wax can get into them.
