How to clean the toilet seat

Cleaning the toilet requires special care. For perfect hygiene, you should pay attention to all areas, including the seat and lid, which will turn yellow over time. This can be caused by hard water splashes or even cleaning chemicals. In any case, it is important to clean and disinfect the surfaces regularly.

The toilet seat accumulates stubborn dirt and bacteria. Sante Plus has published effective tips to help you deal with dirt.

Soap solution

The first "obvious" solution is to use soapy water. Almost all types of soap provide a satisfactory result. Thanks to its detergent and degreasing properties, dishwashing detergent can easily remove stubborn dirt and stains. Pour a few drops of dishwashing liquid onto a damp sponge or cloth. Clean the seat surface, paying particular attention to soiled areas. Then rinse again with a damp cloth and dry with a soft towel.

White vinegar

White vinegar can remove stubborn yellow stains from the toilet seat.

  1. Lightly moisten several paper towels with a solution of vinegar and water (1:1 ratio).
  2. Place the towels on the seat and toilet bowl so that they cover the entire surface.
  3. Sprinkle the towels with water and vinegar to make them more moist.
  4. Leave for an hour to allow the white vinegar to work.
  5. Remove the towels, wipe the seat with a damp sponge and rinse with water.

Lemon juice

Lemon juice has bleaching and disinfecting properties. Mix a cup of lemon juice with a few drops of essential oil of your choice. Pour the solution into a spray bottle. Spray the lemon juice onto the toilet seat and leave it on for 15 minutes. Then rinse the seat with clean water and dry it with a dry cloth.

Hydrogen peroxide

Fill a spray bottle with hydrogen peroxide and spray the solution liberally on the toilet seat. Leave it on for 10 minutes, then wipe the surface with a soft cloth.

Baking soda

In a container, mix three tablespoons of baking soda with a little warm water. You should get a paste-like mixture that should be applied to the toilet seat. Allow the mixture to work for about twenty minutes. Then wipe the seat with a microfibre cloth dampened in water to remove any residual product.
