Law enforcers reported the suspicion of the operator-director of the enemy's BMD, who directly shot people in the vehicles in Bucha. As a result of the war crime, a woman and two children were killed in one of the vehicles.

This was told in the press service of the National police of Ukraine. The perpetrator faces up to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment(to view the video, scroll to the end of the page).

"On March 5, 2022, when the Russian army had already occupied the city of Bucha in the Kyiv region, two families attempted to escape from the Russians and flee the city. There was a family in the first car: a father, his wife, and their sons, ages 4 and 9. In the car following them were their neighbors, a spouse and a relative. Soon they saw military equipment and stopped. The cars had no tinting, so the Russians could see that there were civilians in the car. But in spite of that, they opened fire at them," they said in the press service.

Civilians were killed by soldiers of the column of the 104th Airborne Assault Regiment of the 76th Airborne Assault Division of the Russian Armed Forces. It consisted of about 40 BMDs equipped with a 30 mm cannon.

According to Alexander, who was driving the first car that came under fire, he remembers those terrible moments very well.

I remember that the shelling started, my car caught fire, the bullet hit the battery area and the fire started there. I looked back and saw my wife and children dead. I understood that I was wounded, that my leg was holding on to my jeans," the man said.

He was able to crawl away from the burning car to the trees on the side of the road. The man sitting in the front right passenger seat was killed instantly in the car, which was moving behind him, while two women survived. The wounded man was taken to the hospital, where the medics saved his life.

Alexander himself recalls that the bodies of his dearest people were in the burnt-out car for a long time. He himself was in the hospital - they amputated part of his leg.

"A neighbor went and found the bodies. He found some blanket, put the bodies and buried them in front of our house. And then, after the de-occupation, his brother came and reburied the bodies in the Buchan cemetery," the man added.

Alexander and his family are migrants from Donetsk. They were forced to leave their hometown in 2014 because of the Russian occupation. Before deciding to leave Bucha, the family sat in the basement for several days.

"And no one understood who would be there, what would happen there, what could happen along the way. It was only later, when I was already conscious, that I understood that my relatives had died. I had photographs in my phone, and I was constantly looking through them. On April 13 of that year my youngest son would have been 5 years old. On July 2 my eldest would have been 10. Rita would have been 35 on March 27 of that year," the Ukrainian added.

The police identified the commander of the BMD, the operator-driver, the mechanic-driver of the combat vehicle and two members of the landing party. The operator-driver was reported on suspicion of violating the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder. The article provides for a penalty of up to 15 years' imprisonment or life imprisonment.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, in Ukraine sentenced to imprisonment another Russian occupant. The invader, who brutalized a local resident during the occupation by Russian troops of the village of Yagidne in the Chernigov region, received 11 years in prison.
