Stove care is easy with common home remedies

The stove is perhaps the most important surface in the entire kitchen. It is responsible for cooking, so it is important to keep it clean. In addition, a stained hob spoils the overall look of the interior.

Today, there are many types of stoves, and they all need to be cleaned differently. OBOZ.UA has collected basic tips for cleaning the most popular types.

How often do you need to clean the stove

Home care experts and appliance manufacturers recommend wiping the hob every time you use it. This will allow you to quickly clean up spills and crumbs. This routine care will also protect your appliance from stubborn stains and stubborn dirt.

General cleaning with degreasing and disinfecting should be done once a week. Here are the tools and products you'll need, regardless of the type of cooker you have:

  • microfiber cloths;
  • distilled white vinegar
  • water
  • baking soda
  • dishwashing detergent;
  • an old toothbrush.

How to clean a glass ceramic hob

This type of surface is particularly sensitive to scratches, so you should clean it with liquid products. You can buy a special spray at the store, or make your own solution with water and vinegar.

Allow the stove to cool completely before cleaning, and then use a microfiber cloth to remove any liquid and crumbs. In a spray bottle, mix equal parts distilled white vinegar and water. Spray the resulting vinegar solution onto the glass plate and leave for 5-10 minutes. If there are any stains, sprinkle a little baking soda on them and gently rub them with a damp microfiber cloth. Do not apply pressure. Finally, wipe the entire surface with a damp sponge or cloth to remove any remaining baking soda and vinegar. Wipe the hob dry.

How to clean an electric stove

The steps for cleaning an electric stove are generally similar to those for a glass stove. But before you do so, you'll need to remove all the trays, grids, and burners and soak them in soapy water if necessary.

As always, start the cleaning process by letting the hob cool down. Next, put all the removed parts in a bowl of warm water with a few drops of dishwashing liquid. Use a microfiber cloth to remove all major dirt and treat the stove with a 1:1 mixture of water and vinegar. After 5-10 minutes, sprinkle the stains with baking soda and rub them gently to remove any remaining dirt. Rinse the surface with clean water, dry all the parts of the stove and put them back together.

How to clean a gas stove

A gas stove, like an electric stove, requires disassembly of removable parts. They accumulate grease and carbon deposits, so they need to be thoroughly cleaned regularly. So, cool the appliance after the last use and get to work.

Soak the burners and the grill in a warm solution of a few drops of dishwashing detergent and collect all the liquid and debris from the surface of the hob. Spray it with a solution of vinegar and water and leave it to work for 5-10 minutes. Afterward, sprinkle baking soda on the stains and rub them with a cloth or sponge, then remove the residue and rinse the surface with water. Next, brush the soaked grids and burners with a toothbrush to remove any soaked dirt, and then rinse under running water. Dry everything thoroughly. Put the hob back together.
